Almeria province is known for its cinematic past; many classic spaghetti westerns were made here, Moorish architecture, long stretches of pristine beaches, some voted Spain's finest, white lime-washed villages and colourful fiestas. There is paragliding in Sorbas and the town is known for its caves. There is horse riding, canoeing and scuba diving in Carboneras.

The mill is within 10 kms of a variety of beaches, some voted Spain's finest. Carboneras and Sorbas market towns are within 10 kms. Almeria airport and Mojacar (busy tourist resort) are a forty minute drive away, with a wide choice of international supermarkets, restaurants and all amenities.

Possible futures

It operate as either a cultural tourist attraction, museum with a restaurant, cafe retreat/spa centre or property rentals, so people can try living off the grid. Scope for renovating old watermill or eco-lodges. Grants and permissions are available locally for eco-tourism ventures. The mill is on scenic mill route and it could be used for tour companies, for camping, workshops, arts centre, mountain biking or trekking or restoring the old watermill.
